TESTIMONIALS Here are what some of our customer's have to say about their Vintage Factory Racers... When I first finalized my purchase of my 1976 CR125 FMF Replica from Vintage Factory, I had a burning desire to actually throw in some premix and re-live the glory years. Once I received the bike, I realized quickly that the painstaking effort and attention to detail that Scott had put into this bike would prevent me from doing anything other than putting the bike on display and simply appreciating it as a beautiful piece of moto history. Mark Edwards, Florida
I have been collecting vintage motocross and dirt bikes for a number of years. When my hobby got into full swing, I had too many projects to start or complete and locating hard to find vintage parts was becoming increasingly troublesome. When I found Vintage Factory and got to know Scott Steger my problems were solved. I truly had no idea that someone could have all the right contacts and rebuild one of these bikes to just like new condition. I now have over 35 bikes in my collection; a good number of them are on the Vintage Factory web site. If you are a serious vintage bike collector or racer, the Vintage Factory is simply the best company out there! Chip Watkins, Florida
Scott does A+ 100pt work. I've picked up bikes from
many different restoration gurus, and Scott is right at the top of the
list. Thanks!

After digging through countless web sites, and links to vintage bikes, I came across Vintage Factory. My early years of motocross were spent on Honda Elsinores, and after much investigation, I chose Vintage Factory for a few special project bikes...I purchased an RCc125 Marty Smith Replica, a DG CR125 Replica, and a DG CRr250 factory bike replica, all were from the ground up builds. The communication with Scott was by far the best experience I've had, and when the bikes were delivered as promised, they all are by far more than what I expected, fit, finish, and attention to detail were are above, and beyond my satisfaction! Anyone who is looking for a vintage Honda Elsinore, or a custom MX bike, look no further, you will not be disappointed! The price, communication are excellent, and I highly recommend,........ Scott Steger’s Honda Elsinore restoration work is the best I have seen. I have an extensive Elsinore background having enjoyed these popular vintage motorcycles as a collector and rider for the last 10+ years. I have purchased several beautifully restored Elsinore’s from Scott and have also had him do individual restoration projects for me. I currently own several of the bikes that appear in the photos on Scott’s website and I can personally say that the quality of his work is on par with no one else who I have seen. Scott is also a great guy who I hold the highest level of respect. Rick Burns, Illinois
I have been doing business with Scott Steger for over 5 years, and everything I have purchased, has always been perfect, as described. The two restored bikes Vintage Factory supplied for me were beautiful, with excellent attention to detail! If there is one thing that makes doing business with Scott a pleasure is that he is accessible, and when not, he always returns correspondence in a timely matter. Vintage Factory is certainly in my Favorites. Brian Manly, California
Hello Scott, I just wanted
to tell you how impressed I am with the 1976 cr125 Honda Elsinore you
restored for me. This is without a doubt the nicest restoration I've ever
seen. Perfect. When people come to my office, they are blown
away with the attention to detail you apply to the bike. I consider myself a
perfectionist, and have very high standards. This CR125 met, and passed, all
of my expectations. I thank you again for the love you put into your
projects'. I look forward to buying another vintage masterpiece very
soon.

Scott:
The first time that I learned
about Vintage Factory was from buying a bike on eBay. The bike was what I
would describe as a 1975 CR125M just like the one I had as a teenager. It
looked to be in perfect condition. Impossible, how could that be? Well, I
received my bike and checked it out especially looking at the details. It
was perfect just like a new one. I found out from the seller that it was
built by Scott Steger of Vintage Factory. I investigated further and found
the website and Scott himself. Since then, I have bought both a 1975 CR250M
FMF Racer, and a 1976 CR125M FMF Racer. Both are perfect, and both were
built to my specifications. I wanted a couple of bikes to actually ride.
However, this will be a difficult decision for me to carry out because they
both belong in the Motocross Hall of Fame never to be touched again. I like
Vintage Factory because I don't have enough time to start from scratch and
find all of the parts, and I don't have enough time to do the work the right
way. The fit, finish, and attention to detail are fantastic. The great
quality of these bikes is awesome. To top it all off, Scott actually
communicated with me on what I was looking for. He has more knowledge about
these bikes than anyone I know, and he built exactly what I wanted. You
just can't beat that. As far as my dealings with Scott go, all I can say is
Vintage Factory is world-class stuff, the best of the best.

I remember the first day
we spoke on the phone about the RM80 you had for sale on E-bay. I told
you that I wanted to build a 1980 DG RM80 and you told me about your
business, Vintage Factory, and about some of your previous projects. I
had previously restored an 1977 XR75 so I understood the amount of time
and money that is involved in a restoration project. So we agreed on a
fair price for you to build my DG RM80.
I am so glad that I had
Vintage Factory do the restoration for me. You were able to source some
rare parts like the shocks and swingarm that I might never have
located. The quality of the work is impeccable. My friends in Canada
that rode 80's with me can't believe how beautiful the bike is. I am
extremely happy with this bike. The only problem is it is too perfect
to ride.

The two JWRP Mini
Elsinore's restored for myself and my son by the Vintage Factory are
absolutely gorgeous. Photos do not do them justice. Everyone that sees
them is impressed by the attention to detail and none of them can
believe we are actually planning on racing one of them. But it's race
prepped and ready to run. To say it's fast would be an
understatement, sorting out the jetting throughout the neighborhood was
fun to say the least! As soon as I come to grips with the fact I don't
have enough spare time to restore my next project, you'll most likely
find another crate sitting in your driveway. Which brings up another
point. The turnaround time on the mini's was amazingly quick considering
the task at hand. Thanks again.

I received my bikes over the
weekend. I purchased a Marty Smith RC 125 Replica and a 1975 FMF 125 Package
Racer. Both bikes are awesome! The quality, fit, finish and attention to detail
right down to the application of the stickers is first class. I would highly
recommend The Vintage Factory to anyone that is looking for a top quality
restoration. I purchased the bikes for pure enjoyment but now I consider them an
investment, as I know they will only increase in value. I am looking forward to
my next Vintage Factory purchase. Thanks again for all of the help, great
communication and keeping Motocross History alive. Regards, Fausto Vargas. Fausto Vargas, Los Angeles, California
Scott Steger is an absolute artist! His re-creation of the 1975 Honda RC 125 Elsinore is incredible! If you want a perfect example of this period in Honda's motocross history, Vintage Factory, and Scott Steger is your only choice. Kent Elliott, TX.
Scott - It was good to finally met you in person and see your wonderful
display of Vintage Factory Restored Bikes at the St. Louis Supercross. Your
work is top shelf, I don't know what could be done to make your restoration
work any better!! The precise detail, paint work, correctness of color,
plastic, fabric, decals, parts, etc. is absolutely the finest available.
I am planning on having you restore my Vintage RM125.

Hey Scott - Just received the RC125 Type 2, WOW!!! That is as good
as it gets, I would not have dreamed the old Honda race iron could look
so good. As a pro racer from the 70's I rode several prototype bikes and
early production stuff, nothing looked this good! This bike will
never see sunshine again, it is on display to enjoy and remind me of the
late childhood where we had the time of our life.

Mr. Vintage Factory - Scott, you did it
again, went above and beyond the call of duty, restoring the 1976 CR125 FMF
Factory Racer to exact spec's. Your work is unreal!!! To
see the beginning work on a barn find to the finished product allows me to
understand the hours of time and expense you have put into your
restorations. Unreal craftsmanship, you are truly an artist! I
understand you just finished the last RC125 Reproduction Honda, the one you
did for me will be like a savings bond, increases in value with time, It can
be enjoyed a lot more than a savings bond! Thanks again for the great
bikes, super service and your friendship! We all appreciate your
efforts.

Scott does work that is absolutely astounding. He is the ONLY restorer I would consider for any of my work! Lee Rollins, SC.

at the St. Louis Supercross, Kent Pelaez Centralia, Illinois
As the owner of many collectable motorcycles, I'm sometimes surprised at the reactions of friends when they are checking out my collection. Sitting between a 1098R Ducati and a 1961 Rickman Matchless is a Marty Smith RC125 replica Honda that Scott built. Recently a non-motorcyclist friend was looking at my bikes, and he spent about 10 minutes walking around Scott's RC. He asked if it was a new bike, and said that the detail is just incredible. I couldn't agree more. Even though I walk past this bike several times every day, I can't help but look at it - it is absolutely beautiful, and the engineering is just incredible. I ride my Ducatis, my Rickmans, my CR500 twin shock Lackey replica; I even ride my 1967 360 Husqvarna - the actual bike that Malcolm Smith, and J.N. Roberts rode to win the first ever Baja (Mexican) 1000. In fact, I ride all of my bikes except one - Scott's bike is so perfect that I can't get myself to start it up! I may just have to buy another one... Often my friends ask the question... if you could only have one vintage bike, which one would you chose? I have a perfect 1974 YZ250, 4 Rickmans, many Maicos, Honda SL 100 and 125 (lime green!), Pentons, CZs, Huskys, Triumphs, an RM370 signed by Roger DeCoster.... but if I had to chose one, it would be the RC! And I would ride it as often as 0D possible! Jim Roble, St. Louis, MO.
I recently picked up a 1974
CR125 with a partial restoration job on it as a project for the summer. I
quickly realized that I had neither the time, nor the resources to
dedicate to this restoration that I had wanted to. I sent the bike to
Scott, and got it back in a few weeks looking new again. It is now on
display in my living room, and gets more than it's fair share of attention.
If your looking for a restorer, Scott will treat you right.

"I've been
following Scott's work for years and was waiting for the right time
and bike to send to him. I found a roach of a 1987 CR250 and sent
it right to Scott's shop. A few months later and it is by far the
best race bike I've ever had. The only problem (a short lived one
once I rode it) was deciding to race it rather than displaying it.
I have been racing and building vintage MX bikes for over twenty
years and am one of those guys who has too many vintage MX bikes,
and also rebuild them in my spare time. Scott surpassed every
expectation I had and I intend to send more of my bikes to him for
"proper" overhaul. Thanks Scott!

I can’t thank you enough. The bike is gorgeous. Based on the photos you have on your web site and our conversations, I could tell that you did good work and really knew your stuff, but I never imagined the bike would be so beautiful. Everything is perfect. That is the actual first motorcycle I ever owned. Thirty-two years later, it looks like it just rolled out of the showroom. Thank you! Jim Coppedge Houston, TX.
