Welcome to the Vintage Factory!

The Vintage Factory specializes in first class restorations, building vintage Honda motocross racers.  The Honda MR50, XR75, and CR125 250 Elsinores are of the most popular bikes we build.  The biggest part of these are popular “themed” bikes from the past, such as an FMF racers, DG racers, Mugen racers, C&J thumpers, etc., replicas from the 70’s.  We pride ourselves with spot on restorations, making no compromises on replicating the authenticity of these machines, whether stock restorations, or themed replicas.   Scott Steger (founder & creator of Red Racer) has been building vintage racers since the early 90's, with a background in the motorcycle Industry, and MX racing that stretches back to the early 70's, when they were modern!

A few past projects include Jeff Ward’s Honda Factory FMF Mini Elsinore 105cc racer, Marty Moates’s KSI 450 Knobby Shop International thumper works bike.  We have also worked with Team Honda 3 time national champion, Marty Smith on special projects as well.   In 2005, we located, and purchased Marty Tripes's 1979 Works Honda RC250 that was claimed by John Roeder at Hangtown in 1979.  Be sure to check it out while on the site!

In 2001, we were the first to bring a complete "Full line" of Honda plastic and decals to the Vintage Market Place.  In 2003, the Red Racer business was sold, and we started "Vintage Factory" which focused more on the restoration aspect of the business, and has been a huge success!  We currently have several new parts projects in the works which will be available soon, so stay tuned to THE Vintage MX Source - Vintage Factory.
